02 Jul Meet Our 2020 Summer Interns!

At Fleet Response, we value our internship program. As we continue to grow, we’re proud to offer opportunities for students to gain hands-on experiences. Our interns provide us with fresh ideas and new perspectives that have real impact. In addition, they return to college with skills that will be valuable as they grow their careers.

With COVID-19 continuing to have its impact on people and organizations around the world, the health and safety of our employees remains our top priority. As a result, we have transitioned our in-person internship program to a remote program to last throughout the summer.
At the beginning of June, we welcomed three interns to our Fleet Response team.

Peyton Miller is a second-year accounting major at The Ohio State University. Peyton is “looking forward to working in the various fields of Fleet Response and gaining skills necessary for the business world.”

Erika Petersen is a third-year marketing major at The Ohio State University. She is “very excited to be working at Fleet Response this summer and looking forward to being exposed to multiple departments while learning valuable information from people who are so passionate about their roles.”

Preston Warren is a third-year operations management major at the University of Cincinnati. When asked what he was looking forward to this summer he said that he is “excited to learn more about the unique operations at Fleet Response and to get hands on experience working in each of the different departments.”

These interns work closely with one another, and our internship coordinators. Throughout the course of the program, they will collaborate heavily with each department including Claims and Subrogation to fully understand how they operate.

The interns are also assigned various projects each week that they work together on. They are paired with a mentor to offer them insight about working at Fleet Response and career advice. Additionally, they have the opportunity to hear a weekly presentation from a member of our Executive Leadership team. These presentations dive deep into the employee’s role at Fleet Response and offer advice about their field and about the business world.

This summer, so many career building opportunities for college students were cancelled due to COVID-19. We are proud to be able to offer this opportunity for these three students to gain useful skills to use in the future. We wish them all the best over the next few months and hope they learn a lot to utilize in their future careers.
