18 Dec Fleet Response Employees Give Back at the Greater Cleveland Food Bank

Fleet Response is committed to giving back to the community where we live and work through long-lasting partnerships, community-based delivery and engaging our best asset—Fleet Response employees.

We host many giving programs throughout the year focused on a variety of community needs to appeal to the diverse interests of our employees. These include a variety of efforts such as fighting hunger, raising awareness for non-profit organizations such as ALS and the American Heart Association. Fleet Response employees volunteering is common, in fact, it is encouraged.

Leaders within the company, choose to lead by example with the work that they do in the community. That work is mirrored by the company’s employees. Fleet Response President & CEO, Scott Mawaka, and his wife Julie created The Scott & Julie Mawaka Charitable Foundation in 2004 to bring awareness and funding to non-profit organizations in Northeast Ohio. 

For the second year, Fleet Response has teamed up with the Greater Cleveland Food Bank to give employees an opportunity to volunteer and spread holiday cheer. Volunteers were needed to sort and repack food donations, assist with kitchen duties, food distribution and help with special events.

The Greater Cleveland Food Bank is the largest hunger relief organization in Northeast Ohio having served more than 350,000 people and providing food and non-food items to more than 1,000 programs in a six-county service area, consisting of Ashland, Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake and Richland Counties. The fact remains, 1 in 6 people in our community remain food insecure. The Greater Cleveland Food Bank is there to ensure everyone in our communities has the nutritious food they need every day.
