Fleet Response Announces Second-Term Board for Diversity and Inclusion Committee

Fleet Response Diversity and Inclusion Committee

The Fleet Response Diversity & Inclusion Committee was created earlier this year in January. Originally formed by our Executive Leadership Team, the committee was created to build an inclusive culture that encourages, supports, and celebrates the diverse voices of our employees.

The first term led the committee to a great start by recognizing World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development in the Spring. This included a company-wide Diversity and Inclusion Seminar, as well as activities throughout the day for our employees to learn more about Diversity and Inclusion.

They also came up the initiative to give back to the community by donating to a charity that aligned with the values of Fleet Response and our commitment to diversity and inclusion. They researched local charities and provided them to the Executive Team to review and make their final decision to present the donation to. Fleet Response made a $5,000 donation to the Urban League of Greater Cleveland.

The second term committee welcomed 10 new members. The members include Roger Cervenka (Executive Sponsor), Sean Nehlsen (HR Sponsor), Angela Skuza (Co-Chair), Kelly Medcalf (Co-Chair), Liz Bush, Matt Golga, Andrea Janowski, Raymond Rivera, Tiffany Shay and Kylie Weaver.

Once again, these 10 individuals aligned with the mission for all employees to create and nurture an environment where any person, from any background, can feel empowered and proud to succeed.

This new team decided to host a week-long Diversity Week starting Monday, October 5. Daily activities for employees include watching TED talks and reading articles related to importance of diversity in the workplace, women in the workplace, unconscious bias, disabilities and accessibility, and ethnicity and culture. Other activities include, a companywide training seminar on Unconscious Bias, a virtual art walk, and Who Am I guessing game.

The committee continues to meet once a month, to express their opinions and concerns regarding Diversity and Inclusion, as well as executing program initiatives for the remainder of the year.

At Fleet Response, we recognize and appreciate the importance of creating an environment in which all of our employees feel valued, included, and empowered and through our Diversity and Inclusion Committee we are able to help employees voice their opinions to creating a more stronger and inclusive workplace.
