31 Aug Fleet Response supports The Mawaka Foundation & LOPen Charities Annual Fundraising Event
Cleveland, Ohio, August 31, 2017 — Fleet Response, a Cleveland-based claims management company, recently supported The Scott and Julie Mawaka Foundation and the LOPen Charities in their efforts to raise money and awareness for The Akron Children’s Hospital.
Fleet Response President & CEO, Scott Mawaka, and his wife Julie created The Scott & Julie Mawaka Charitable Foundation in 2004 to bring awareness and funding to non-profit organizations in Northeast Ohio. Through the generous support of family, friends and colleagues, Scott and Julie have raised over $500,000 in donations over the past thirteen years.
Looking to expand their reach and increase charitable donations, The Mawaka Foundation teamed up with LOPen Charities (Phil and Jen Lopez and Brad and Jen Croce) in 2016 to co-host “Rockin’ FORE The Kids,” a weekend-long charitable event that included a golf tournament, celebrity appearances, raffles and a concert.
Raising over $120,000 for The Akron Children’s Hospital Showers Family Center for Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders in 2016 alone, “Rockin’ FORE The Kids” has now become a highly anticipated annual event. The 2017 event was highlighted by a concert at Akron Canal Park featuring Brother Trouble and Rascal Flatts, and the anticipated donation should reach $200,000.
“Julie and I were thrilled to partner with LOPen again this year, “said Scott Mawaka. “We’re honored to be able to help put on an event supporting a cause that we’re so passionate about. Each year we continue to be blown away by the support and generosity of our sponsors, performers, family and friends.”
In the future, The Mawaka Foundation and LOPen Charities plan to continue their partnership and increase donations for Akron Children’s Hospital.
